Include the maker, marked size, approximate era, material and anything you know about its history.
Consider
Hannah reviews condition, relevance and current demand, then replies if the piece suits the archive.
Agree
An offer and practical handover or postage details are confirmed in writing before the piece changes hands.
Introduce
Send the same clear photographs and details, and mention that you are interested in consignment.
Assess
The piece is considered for condition, provenance, season and its place within the current edit.
Set terms
Commission, proposed price, listing period, return arrangements and payment are agreed in writing.
Place
Accepted pieces are researched, photographed and introduced to the archive with care.
A useful first edit
What we look for
Cloth
Natural fibres, interesting weaves and well-made synthetics with a beautiful hand or drape.
Shape
Memorable lines, good proportion and pieces that can still become part of a modern wardrobe.
Condition
Clean, wearable garments. Honest age is welcome; structural damage and persistent odour are not.
Story
Labels, provenance, alterations and signs of skilled making that add to the life of a piece.

Do you accept every piece?+
No. The archive is intentionally small, and suitability depends on condition, season, style and current demand.
Can you give a value from one photograph?+
Usually not. Clear images of the full garment, labels, closures and wear allow for a more useful first response, but a final offer may require closer inspection.
How are consignment terms decided?+
Commission, price, timeframe, payment and return arrangements are agreed in writing for accepted pieces. There is no universal rate presented on this site.
